Working Kerosene Duplex Oil Caravan Lamp Kitchen Lamp Brass Reflector E&g Drgm
The wall hanger bracket is composed of an iron rod that forms the top loop, then encircles the large brass reflector, with two'tails' below. A strong iron font ring is fixed to the bottom of the tails. The reflector is a particularly prominent feature of this lamp.
Just below the reflector is a stamped brass tag with D. Patent (German patent) No 6909. The brass font which drops snugly into the iron ring has the E&G (Graetz) mark to the filler cap. The brass Duplex burner has British Make stamped to the winders, fully working with working extinguishers. It likely dates to the late 1930s or 1950s and may be a replacement for an earlier cheaper German burner. Overall height is 41 cms, the reflector is 21 cms wide, and the total projection from the wall is just over 16 cms. There are NO Leaks, NO splits, NO serious dents, one or two slight ripples in the reflector. Burner winds perfectly, extingushers work and all the chimney grips hold perfectly. Hangs from a screw or nail so occupies very little space. As you can see the lamp works well and gives a bright light and burns cleanly and without smell once the chimney is warmed through if you use clean paraffin.Compact lamp (good for heat too) would suit a compact space, small room, or a caravan , shepherds hut or narrowboat. Would also suit a kitchen or cottage decor.
If used in a vehicle it would need to be lifted down and stowed away. If left complete when van or boat moved it would get broken!If used in a caravan or boat need to be aware of heat output from the chimney, wooden ceilings above may need protection.
