The handle also unscrews and all the items attached around the stem can be removed. Brass 3 spoke tapered shade with a thumb turn to secure at varying height on the stem. Oil chamber - wraps around the stem - has a removable lid to reveal the oil chamber - this has a drain hole in the bottom which is currently open but may have had a stopper at one point -this could be a useful feature if the lamp were to be converted to take electricity. On one side of the chamber is an ornate lion head with a ring handle in its mouth - on the other are two burners - these are akin to a candle holder (and could hold candles if desired) but have a hole in the base connecting to the chamber - possibly to hold a wick. The underside of the burners have ornate female female figures, holding them up, like a figure head.
I will attach a photo of this later when uploaded. The stem has a further turned section which twists to lock on the stem.
This allows the oil chamber to be placed at different heights on the stem. The lamp is in overall good condition with no notable dents or scratches.
It has not been specifically cleaned or polished and appears to be in original condition. When the parts are dissembled, the bright polished brass can be seen in sections of the stem that have been protected - the shade has more of a reddish tinge and could have a higher copper element. It is rare to find such an elegant a lamp in this well preserved original condition. Please ask any questions - also if you have any information on these lamps - I would be interested to know more about it.
