Victorian Veritas Art Nouveau Cranberry Glass Kerosene Paraffin Hall Oil Lamp. Please scroll down for photographs. Here we have a beautiful and original Victorian Veritas Lampworks hanging hall lamp, c1890s.

The lamp has its original insert lamp featuring a 10''' Kosmos burner, stamped'Veritas Lampworks London'. The shade is cranberry glass with a stronger tone at the base, fading to a pale pink towards the top, it has clear optic moulded Art Nouveau floral detail.

The shade is held in with bent over tabs at the top, the base has a 4 fitting rim. When the finial at the bottom is pulled downwards gently, the shade glides upwards allowing you to tend to the lamp. The chimney is a correct profile 10''' (10 line) Kosmos. Dimensions; roughly 25" tall overall including chains, around 7 3/4" across shade at widest part (top), shade around 8 1/2 tall. Condition; lamp is in excellent condition, shade has some mild scuffs and the rims have a few shallow nips from use (nothing detracting or seen when in use), bit of age to the brass and tarnish in spots but overall very good (see images).
