A small late Victorian silver plated classical urn shape lamp by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, whose mark is on the base. Comes with a basic blue/green shade. An unusually ornate and profusely decorated, featuring stags and neo-classical faces between bunches of fruit and foliate designs, over stylised semi-naked maidens separated by gadrooned divisions.

The foot features mysterious faces between stiff-leaf design. The lamp was originally manufactured as an oil lamp, now converted to electricity and freshly re-wired. Takes a standard bayonet light bulb. Condition: Good condition with minimal loss of silver plate. Three holes have been filled on the base.

No switch, it is switched on when plugged in (UK plug only). Diameter of base: 7.5 cm (11 1/4 in). Height to bulb holder: 20 cm (8 in) approx. Please remember that this electric lamp is an antique / vintage item and therefore we recommend that you ask a qualified electrician to check it for safety reasons prior to using. You will need an adapter plug and possibly a voltage converter if using outside the UK.
