Victorian Oil Lamp with Glass Font Embossed with Pretty Floral & Foliage Design
This pretty Victorian Oil Lamp is supported on a reeded brass column sitting on a Jackfield style plinth with red leather / leatherette padding to the base. The pink font is embossed with a floral and foliage design and the glass is shaded from pale pink at the base to a slightly deeper pink under the burner. The shade (not original) is frosted and clear glass moving to a ruffled cranberry coloured edge and features a design of flowers and foliage. The lamp has a double burner with the wick winders marked ENGLISH MADE DUPLEX.
29.5" / 74 cm in height (including the chimney), 8.5" / 21.5 cm in diameter (the top of the shade) and weighs 3.4kg. The bottom edge of the shade has some small chips and nibbles to the edge and the font has a faint area of discolouration to the pink around the raised rim (see photos).
