Victorian Hinks Milk Glass Oil Lamp Hinks Duplex Burner, Hinks Font No. 1823
Antique Hinks Duplex Milk glass oil lamp Dating to mid to late 19th century and almost entirely Hinks branded. The oil lamps has an embossed brass base and has the impressed J Hinks and Son makers mark along with the model number 1823 impressed into the weighted base.
The oil font is milk glass (model number 28) surmounted by a brass Hinks Patent collar that has a lug either side to secure the burner. The Hinks duplex burner is copper with extinguisher and gallery and an ornate castellated chimney holder.The only two components of the lamp that are not marked Hinks are the Milk glass shade and the bulge chimney. The chimney is Anchor Brand (Czechoslovakia) and is is undamaged condition and the Milk glass shade is of a high quality and is a nice weight. Although not marked this is most likely to be a Hinks model 1536. The lamp overall is in excellent undamaged condition.
My final pictures show the lamp with alternative shade designs as an option to the milk glass shade. These shades are reproduction but are in keeping with the date of the lamp. Please message me if you would prefer either of these shades to the original one. Height to top of font 24cm.
