STUNNING VICTORIAN POLISHED BRASS OIL LAMP BASE, SQUARE BASE & REEDED COLUMN. SUPERB VICTORIAN BRASS REEDED COLUMN OIL LAMP BASE.
This superb quality oil lamp base in polished brass, sits on a stepped square base. The oil lamp base stands 35.8cm tall with a base measurement of 15.3cm square.
The internal apperture of the column is 21mm and has a screw thread internal fitting. The stepped square base supports a foliate repousse decorated plinth which has a plain brass lip which in turn sits a smaller decorative collar which rises up to the tall square widely fluted column. This is finished with a stepped capitol which supports the threaded fitting.
Some small marks and minor scratches to the base along with the small wear holes caused through polishing over the years, mentioned in the condition report, all commensurate with age and use and in no way detracting but mentioned for accuracy. A superb elegant brass base, cast weighted to provide stability.
