All the brass components are present and in good order. The two wicks on each burner move up and down when the knurled knobs are turned. The burners are both marked'Hinks & Son Patent' and the knurled wick adjusting knob is marked'No. 2 Hinks Lever' Unusually the Hinks Patent extinguishers are both present on their strings.
The lamps have a lacquered brass finish which has over time deepened to a warm yellow gold appearance. Close inspection shows there is some wear to the surface as would be expected, particularly on the upper surfaces of the oil reservoirs, and the upper curves of the arms.
This is where the lacquer has worn and the exposed brass has tarnished. There is a dent in the lower half of one of the reservoirs, but this becomes invisible when it sits in it's cradle. There are no glass chimneys present. The diameter of the oil reservoirs is approx.
