A rare example of a substantial late 19th. Century Sitzendorf Porcelain Oil Lamp with etched glass shade and Griffin brand fireproof chimney. 54 cm to chimney top, 22 cm across base. The unbranded burner has a working snuffer lever and key lift. Please note, the mechanism is a lttle flimsy and this feature should be used with care by supporting the shade and chimney.

It is recommended to light the lamp in the traditional manner of removing the shade and chimney. There is a star crack on the bowl interior. A manufacturing glazing fault on top of the font. There are a few slight chips and losses to flower petal edges but these are not normally noticeable.
