RARE LATTICINO GWTW STYLE MINIATURE OIL LAMP. The lamp has the "Gone With the Wind" (GWTW) shape with a round globe. The glass has colorful ribbons that alternate with twisted strands of white latticino canes. It was made in the Murano region of Italy, possibly by Fratelli Toso who was famous for his latticino work. The lamp has a #00 size (11/16 inside diameter) collar that is fitted with a Nutmeg burner (markings on thumbwheel nearly illegible) and a shade ring.
I'm also including a glass chimney. This lamp stands about 8 1/2 tall to the top of the shade (not the chimney). The base is approximately 5" wide at the base and the matching shade is about 4" in diameter. I'm not sure exactly when it was made.
It appears to have some age to it, as the collar is attached with plaster instead of glue (see photo). Regardless, it's a scarce lamp. I've only seen a few other examples pictured online.
Condition of this latticino glass miniature lamp is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or fleabites. The burner has some age discoloration and the thumbwheel markings are very hard to read. Overall, this vintage Venetian glass lamp looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself.
As I mentioned previously, this lamp is very hard to find and is rarely offered for sale. While you're here, please check out my other listings by clicking on the link below.
