Rare Victorian ostrich foot electrified brass oil lamp made by. The lamp is over two feet hight and the ostrich claw base is over twelve inches long. Ornate, whimsical design with solid brass construction. The oversized ostrich foot is delightfully realistic and grotesque. Was located in Boston, Massachusetts and manufactured Victorian light fixtures in the 1870s and'80s.
The lamp is rewired with a reproduction cloth covered twist cord in red. The fixture takes a four and quarter inch diameter shade. A seldom-seen Victorian lamp in a classic and quirky design. Shade base diameter: 4 ΒΌ inches.
