It's fitted with a Plume & Atwood Hornet burner that is also period correct. This lamp is shown in Frank & Ruth Smith's book. It's rated as "RARE" in the book. Price Guide for Miniature Lamps. The lamp pictured in the Smith book does not have the original shade.
The shade appears to be extremely rare and I can only find one other example pictured anywhere online. This appears to be one of the very few surviving complete examples of this lamp (perhaps the only white one). This lamp dates from the late 1800's or early 1900's and is guaranteed to be an antique original and NOT a modern remake.
Condition of this antique miniature lamp is VERY GOOD. The shade has a shallow chip along the top rim (see photo). The inside top and bottom edges of the shade have some minor rim roughness and tiny nicks. I don't think the eyes are original but I don't know for certain. Overall, this antique lamp looks fantastic and displays beautifully.
It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. As I mentioned previously, this lamp may be the only surviving complete example in the white color. While you're here, please check out my other listings by clicking on the link below.
