PRETTY RISE AND FALL 19TH C OIL LAMP, WHITE CERAMIC FONT & SHADE, DUPLEX BURNER. STUNNING RISE AND FALL OIL LAMP. This beautiful oil lamp will suit perfectly the'Shabby Chic' interior with its delicate decoration. The lamp stands 61.5cm tall to the top of the solid brass rod which supports the rise and fall action of the lamp. It is counter balanced by a heavy solid brass ring base.
The font sits inside the supporting ring which can be moved up and down and is tightened against the rod with a screw fixing. The font itself is ceramic in white porcelain and the top is beautifully decorated with applied decoration of flowers and leaves with handpainted butterflies and insects. There are a few losses to the applied decoration which doesn't really show due to the nature of the design but mentioned for accuracy.
The font measures 15cm in diameter at its widest point and has a brass screw thread fitter rim which the duplex burner fixes to. It comes with a wick. The shade is in overall good condition but there is a chip to the fitter rim. Please look carefully at the photographs to satisfy yourself to condition and style. A beautiful lamp that will display very nicely or make a great addition to any collection.
