A Stunning Large Old Antique Victorian Brass Oil Lamp Converted To Electric. A Wonderful Amethyst Purple Coloured Bubble Design Thick Glass Shade - Very heavy a sign of a good quality item. Brass base that originally would have been filled with paraffin - two handles either side for easy manoeuvring.

Circa very early 1900s - late 1800s. In very good condition with a few minor marks as you would expect with age - glass in lovely condition with general age related wear. Some tape around the edge of the bulb area which has always been there to keep the area a little more sturdy but not visible when shade is on, please study all my photographs carefully if you wish to see anything else I can provide further photos if needed. Standard UK plug last PAT test unknown.

Working condition - light bulb not included. This beautiful large lamp would make a stunning feature to any home that's inspired by antique interior décor. The shade is made from a thick amethyst glass and this really diffuses the light for a wonderful moody effect. The light takes a standard bayonete bulb in the photographs I have used a filament LED gold bulb which gives a lovely warm glow that I feel suits the lamp best as its very in keeping with the warm glow that the original flame would have made in the lamp.

If you are looking for a lamp to create a lot of light this is NOT the lamp for you as this wonderful piece gives off a warm glow to create ambiance rather than a bright light - so please bear this in mind before you commit to a purchasing. The lamp is an excellent large size.
