Large original Victorian oil lamp holder c1880 standard lamp electric conversion

It dates to c1880 and originally would have been topped off with an ornate oil lamp reservoir holder/cup. It has been converted at some point in the past, c1930s, to act as an electric standard lamp. The stem is an extendable one. In its un-extended state the bulb holder is 48 inches from the floor.

The stem extends upwards to a height of 76 inches from the floor. The underside of the base is weighted. I have left it un-polished, just cleaned it. It would all polish up shiny if desired, either way it is a stylish example of lighting history. Coincidentally and from a completely different source I have also listed a cast brass oil lamp reservoir holder of the type that would have been on top of this standard lamp.
