Offered here is a fabulous Hinks & Sons Victorian Oil Lamp. This is made from heavy, good quality Brass with Facet Cut Glass. The Brass is stamped Hinks & Sons Patent on the brass body, and the burner control is marked Hinks's Duplex Patent.
It really is Superb Quality. The lamp is antique and dates to the c19th, but it was converted to electricity around 100 yers ago. There is a bulb holder fitted to the top and a cable goes up the centre. There is a hole for the cable in the base but it has not been threaded through the hole.
This will need some work to convert it back to being oil, likewise it will need work to make it into a safe electrical lamp. Whichever option you choose it will be worth it as the quality is superb. The brass work on the base and throughout is fabulous and there is no damage to the glass. If the key is turned the entire top section can be raised (this can be seen in the last photo). The entire piece as is, stands 20 inches tall.
Please see the other Oil Lamp we have listed separately. We have a large collection of metalware items listed, these include antique and vintage items, including pieces made from silver and various metals (approximately 500).
