Fabulous Large Oil Lamp Base, Cast Brass Base, Etched Bohemian Ruby Glass Column
FABULOUS CAST BRASS AND BOHEMIAN GLASS OIL LAMP BASE This superb example stands 45cm tall with a diameter at its widest point across the base of 22.5cm. The cast brass base may possibly have been gilded originally, we have left it in as found condition. The base is very decorative the casting featuring a lion mask above a clam shell surrounded by swags of fruit. The base is supported by three scrolling feet. The balluster style bohemian glass column is in a rich ruby red with a fine gold etching in a repetitive pattern around the column.
The pierced mount at the top features the inset top mount. The screw thread measures 21mm in diameter across the face of the thread. A truly magnificent example sure to complement and oil lamp of the period. Please look carefully at the photographs to satisfy yourself to condition and style.
