Antique Wright & Butler Duplex Oil Lamp Drop In Font Ornate Neo Classical Base

Fantastic Antique Oil Lamp with a Drop In cut crystal Font, Ornate Neo Classical Base and Quilted amethyst glass shade. A three legged neoclassical design base that is waxed copper and would have once been silver plated (some plate still clinging to the base) the base has an ornate design of three arms each decorated with ladies in profile supporting the basket for the drop-in font. The plinth that holds the arms has a curving three legged design which is decorated with a band scrolling leaves. The font is original to the base and is a cut crystal with star cut bottom and fluted cuts around the perimeter. The brass collar is of a screw-fit type.

A quality Wright & Butler Duplex burner is fitted. Nice black glass buttons which turn the wick winders freely, a snuffer lever, 4 gallery and new wick.

The burner is fully marked to the buttons and pierced gallery for Wright and Butler. A pretty frilled top and optical quilted amethyst glass tulip shaped shade in excellent undamaged condition.
