Antique Victorian Royal Doulton Lambeth Pottery Oil Lamp Hinks Duplex 1882
A lovely Victorian oil lamp of a squat form with three small feet and Doulton's traditional blue and brown swirling pattern. It dates from the late 19th century and is fully stamped underneath for Doulton Lambeth. It comes with its original'Hinks Duplex Patent' burner and the brass collar on the lamp is stamped'Hinks & Sons. I have not tested the burner but it is in good condition and the wick turners move well as does the lifting mechanism. I see no reason why it wouldn't work as intended. The lamp also comes with a glass chimney. It is in excellent condition for its age and displays beautifully. There are no chips, cracks or damages to the lamp or chimney. The burner has worn slightly in the central strip between the wicks and the brass has tarnished over time and has only been lightly cleaned to retain its original patina. Height to burner : 9 (23cm). Height with chimney : 18 (36cm). The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any.
