Antique Victorian Dresden Porcelain Pr 15 OWL Oil Lamps Glass Eyes Bird Marked
Here's a pair of beautiful. Antique Victorian German porcelain figural owl oil lamps with glass eyes. Both lamps have metal burners and shade holders, white glass shades, and clear glass chimneys. The lamps measure about 15 inches tall to the top of the chimneys. The porcelain owls themselves are 6 inches tall. One chimney is actually about inch taller than the other. Altogether the lamps weigh about 3¾ pounds before packaging. One lamp has a paper label still intact on the bottom as well as a blue anchor mark and the number 28.
The other has an impressed mark that says W0. Both have information on the burner knobs as shown. One of the chimneys has an etched mark that says "Made in Kamenz Saxony" as well as a horse and the word Invicta. Both pieces are in very nice condition, though there is some slight roughness at the bottom edge of one lamp and a shallow nick on the other.
Otherwise, there are no chips, cracks or other damage. One owl appears to have been electrified at one time and has a factory cutout for a cord and a plugged hole in the middle of the bottom.
