Antique Veritas Oil Lamp, with Stunning Cranberry Shade. Marked of the wick adjuster'Lamp D. Pat, 40045, Veritas' and also'Hawksley - London' to the shade screw.
Produced as a lamp, but also used as a church altar / pulpit heater. Originally an oil lamp, but now converted to electricity, with British bayonet bulb fitted and vintage style corded flex. Unusual to retrain the original beautiful and substantial sculptured Cranberry glass shade.Dated around 1880 - 1900. Good used condition for age. Some tarnishing, wear, pitting and scratches to the brass base and some small edge chips the shade, but no cracks. The proprietary works in London making Efescaphone wireless sets and components. Also a controlling interest in works at Rainhill making cooking and heating appliances (presumably Stoves Ltd).
