Antique solid-tyred Safety Bicycle Oil Lamp Lantern. William Bown. Victorian

A really nice example of solid tyred Safety Bicycle oil lamp from from the mid to the late 1880's or maybe the early 1890's. It was manufactured by William Bown and is named ROB ROY - everything works as intended. Although not perfect, much of its original nickel plate finish remains. There are no chips or cracks to any of the glass lenses - the front has a bevelled edge, the right side lens is green and the left one is red. The oil reservoir is lovely and sound and there is a match striking facility on the front. The sprung lamp bracket part at the rear still houses its red rubber sleeve (gone hard over the years).
