Antique Peg Oil Lamp Acid Yellow Font Gaudard Burner Opaque Shade. Lamp stands 46cm tall to top of chimney. The font (which doesn't leak) is ribbed and of acid yellow glass that graduates from bright yellow at the top fading to very light yellow at the base, with a brass collar.
The font is now permanently fixed into a brass base that was probably originally a candle stick. The font has a French Gaudard burner and wick. There is a glass chimney extending from the burner up through centre of the shade. The shade is of a later date but matches the base well. For more Antique oil lamps please see Sellers other items. The burner has three small holes that once had arms supporting a shade ring and a couple of the teeth are missed, this does not affect performance at all. There is very small hole in the base (please see picture) that has been filled (no leaks) that I think was drilled ages age for a wire to enable electrification.
