A fantastic Antique oil lamp standing 58cm tall overall. The main body of the lamp was made by George Jones in the iconic "Daisies & Bees" pattern Number 826. It it beautifully decorated with transfer printed daisies in various stages of bloom with pretty bees buzzing around the flowers. Although the base and font are of a slightly different colour, this is undoubtedly intentional and the two components are a match.
The base of the lamp is of a bullet shaped form and is supported by a brass ring being carried by three mythical beasts upon a glossy black glazed tricking base with ornate rounded to the centre. The drop-in font is in good condition and has a brass lugged collar fully marked "Hinks & Sons Patent". The font is fitted with a "Messengers" patent duplex burner which has a working snuffer lever, key lift mechanism and working wick winders.
The wick winders have milk glass buttons marked for the retailer Williams & Bach of new Bond Street, London. New wicks have been fitted and the lamp has an unbranded flat bulge chimney. The lamp is completed with a beautiful antique frill top shade that has an acid etched floral pattern and graduates in colour from vibrant emerald green at the to through to clear/palest green at the base. This shade sits upon an antique brass gallery.
