Antique Oil Lamp Hand Painted Fuchsia Flowers Acid Etched Frosted Glass Shade

A antique Oil Lamp with acid etched frosted glass shade and opaque cream yellow glass font, decorated with hand painted Fuchsia flowers and leaves. It is fitted with screw in double wick burner, which has wick winder buttons marked with segmented globes and has a lever operated flame damper mechanism, which extinguishes the flames, without having to remove the glass shade or chimney.

The font screws onto the brass column, which is decorated with embossed acanthus leaves and is mounted onto the stepped black ceramic base, using a metal rod and bolt, photo 11. It has a opaque acid etched glass shade, with wavy rim and is a 3 7/8" or 10 cm wide fit and measures 6 3/4" or 17 cm high and a Griffin brand glass chimney, measuring 2 1/2" or 64 mm wide x 10 1/4" or 26 cm long. It has a total height, measuring 25 1/2" or 65 cm high x 6 3/4" or 172 mm wide.

It dates to the Victorian period and is in good condition for its age, with no damage to its chimney, shade, font or base and both wicks are raising and lowering smoothly, as shown in photo's. I will box the glass chimney and shade separately to avoid postal damage.
