Antique Cranberry Ruffled Ribbed & Etched Kerosene Oil Lamp Globe Shade

CRANBERRY RUFFLED RIBBED & ETCHED. KEROSENE OIL LAMP GLOBE SHADE. This globe is in very good original condition with no chips cracks or scuffing. There are a couple of very small fine shallow scratches on the clear glass which are barely visible to the naked eye and inconsistencies with the etching associated predominantly with the banding around the neck.

Of course it has the usual inclusion associated with hand worked glass of this period. The rim of the fitter does have the usual fleabites whilst the top rim is immaculate. The etching is intricate and indicative of early to mid Victorian work. One of the things I love about this globe is the etching along the top rim.

The combination of elements (internal ribbing, etching, graduated colour and shape) have come together to create a beautiful example of a Victorian oil lamp globe. 72.5 mm 2.85 Bottom rim external. 66.8 mm 2.63 Bottom rim internal.
