VTG Antique Argand Student Study Oil Lamp / Electric 22.5 Tall Cast Bottom READ. Here we have a rare and most likely original Victorian child's student/reading lamp. I have taken it apart to show what it entails.
The lamp works as show with a bulb I had laying around. Appears to have some letters cast into the underside iron weight "AR" or possibly "AP", too faint to really work out. The only marking I see is an F in circle where candelabra goes and the outlet reads AIW co. Dimensions; lamp stands appoximately 22.5 inches to the top of the carrying handle, roughly 12 inches wide when measuring from shade rim to end of fount.
Base has a small flake. Expect small marks, scuffs, potential grit specs and small bubbles from the manufacturing process, nothing detracting, please see images. Overall, a rare lamp for the collector. Ships fast and securely packaged from smoke free home.
