Antique 1800s French Baccarat Crystal Oil Lamp with Victorian Style Pewter Overlay

Antique 1800's French Baccarat Crystal Oil Lamp w/ Victorian Style Pewter Overlay in Excellent Used Condition. I don't see any Cracks, Chips, Breaks or Repairs. Everything seems to be in great shape. There is not a wick in the lamp burner, so it seems as if someone might have tried at one point to make this electric. I'm not exactly sure.

I have never seen anything like this, and I can't find another one Anywhere to compare it to. It is truly one of a kind. It is unmarked, I'm told because of its very old nature. I was also told that made sense with the Pewter Overlay as well.

The original owner was convinced that this was a very Real Early Royal piece from France. I don't know about that, and I have no way to tell. I can only tell you that there is an incredible amount of detail and craftsmanship in this lamp. I cannot however confirm nor deny it's lineage. I only know it is a Baccarat by the pattern on the base of the crystal.

Their pattern is unique and notably recognizable. This unique lamp separates into two pieces. The bottom half is a stand and the top half is for the oil and wick. This beautiful piece is approximately 13 1/2 Tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the burner.

The base of the lamp is approximately 9" Tall and 5" Wide at the bottom of the base. The bulb of the lamp which holds the oil, is approximately 4 1/2" Wide and 4 1/2" Tall from the bottom of the bulb to the top of the burner.

I'm also unsure as to why it looks like there is a spot for a lightbulb at the top of the burner? It's a little weird, and yet very interesting to someone like me.

I like finding things I have never seen before. Also there is no glass shade, but they are pretty easy to come across, and fairly inexpensive. The burner is currently inoperable, but I imagine that someone who knows what they are doing wouldn't have much of a problem making this light up again if so desired. Sometimes with items this old, some minor repairs are needed. Considering I couldn't find another one even remotely like it, I would think that this would be worth the time and effort.
