VICTORIAN HINKS DUPLEX URANIUM VASELINE GLASS BANQUET OIL LAMP DROP IN FONT. STUNNING HINKS DUPLEX URANIUM GLASS OIL LAMP. Presenting a superb antique Victorian Hinks & Sons Duplex oil lamp with a beautiful uranium glass font. This drop in oil lamp features a uranium / vaseline milk glass body which has been beautifully hand painted with an ornate trim of fruit and foliage surrounding the body. The glass glows with a magnificent neon radiance under a UV blacklight indicating the presence of uranium.
The original Hinks & Sons Duplex fitting screws securely into the brass rimmed base. A single stemmed knob with two adjustment wheels to separately control the two wicks is in fine working order.
The knob features a black glass badge etched with the makers name "Hicks Duplex Patent". The collar of the fitting is marked "Hinks & Sons Patent".This piece is presented in very good antique condition with no breaks or chips to the glass. The fitting appears to be in fine working order. Minor wear to the gilding upon the glass mentioned for complete accuracy. This piece stands approx 190mms or 7.5 inches tall. The glass font measures 100mms in diameter at the base and 135mms in diameter at its widest.
