This is a beautiful Victorian smoke bell. It was used to hang over the chimney of an oil lamp to trap the smoke so it didn't stain the ceiling.

This one is rubina verde or vaseline to cranberry. It also has opalescent highlights. Smoke bells were common, however finding one as nice as this one is quite a discovery.
