Standard Antique Oil Lamp, Cast Brass Stand, Telescopic Ceramic & Brass Base

STUNNING ANTIQUE TELESCOPIC STANDARD OIL LAMP BASE This beautiful base stands approximately 143.5cm tall to the top of the bayonet fit collar and rises to 175cm when fully extended. It has an approximate diameter at its widest point of the cast base of 48cm. Starting at the base, the cast brass is of exceptional quality and is in an Art Nouveau style, this is further enhanced with a smooth ceramic border and then has a ceramic inset with the main decoration of the lamp. The column continues up from this base in the same design which is repeated in the font bowl which has a textured ground and beautiful handpainted foliate design of possibly a clematis in flower. The telescopic column is in reeded brass and is locked into place with a thumb screw.

All the decoration is enhanced with glittering gold and silver, there is some very minor wear to this addition in a few areas. We have not dissasembled the standard lamp to find the marks so it may or may not have any.
