Fabulous Arts & Crafts Messenger's Oil Lamp, Wrought Iron Base, Cranberry Shade
SUPERB ARTS AND CRAFTS STYLE ANTIQUE MESSENGER'S OIL LAMP This stunning oil lamp has a strong Arts and Crafts influence. It stands 66cm tall to the top of the clear glass chimney. The measurement from and to the furthest part of the feet is 27cm. The base is an unusual wrought iron design, the feet look like upturned lily pads. These are attached to three legs with a conical center piece. A zigzag frame joins the deep ring which supports the copper font.
The copper font has a brass Messenger's No 2 burner, there is a little wear to some of the white writing on the winder wheel. The lamp is completed by an etched cranberry glass tulip shade, with a naieve etched design, again reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts style. A fabulous oil lamp with a strong identity to its styling.
