Corinthian column oil lamp excellent qaulity& condition Palmer& Co

This is a splendid late Victorian Corinthian column lamp. High quality and heavy weight example in excellent condition. The column base is 13.75" tall and the base appx 5.5" square , the brass parts look to be cast rather than pressed or spun and the base is substantially weighted. The font is 6.5 in diameter and in lovely condition, in my opinion the detail is a mix of moulded and cut The upper and lower faces are neatly cut , the hobnail detail to central band looks to be moulded but the quality is nice. The burner is marked Palmer & co to adjuster knob , it is a bayonet fit with a cork gasket to base , it also has cork gasket to bayonet collar font fitting.

The adjusters and extinguishers are in working order. As shown in photo there is a broken lug on top crown of burner. Condition is otherwise very good, the lamp has'nt been cleaned or polished for many years I prefer slightly dull patinated look!

Its likely a Palmer & Co lamp but my knowledge about them is limited. Looking at bayonet collar on font it has silver plate finish to top face but I can't see any residue of plating to other parts of the lamp. The lamp is appx 19.5 tall to burner gallery and weight is iro 5kg. EU and worldwide buyers please ask for postal costs.
