This is a recent Estate find. This is a Rare Early Beautiful Huge 19th Century "All Original" Tall Pedestal Victorian "Gone With The Wind" Banquet Lamp Oil Lamp, made by Samuel S Messenger & Sons Birmingham. It Has a Heavy Victorian Glass Crystal Base with Fancy Cut Glass Crystal Font with Brass and Gold Gilded Metal Accents, Absolutely Stunning!!!! 23 Tall to the Top of the Font, and the Total Height of the Lamp to the Top Of The Chimney is approx. The Globe is Original and Correct for the Lamp.

It is a Clear Glass Victorian Mushroom Beehive Globe Shade with Beautiful Hand Etched Floral Flowers and Butterfly Butterflies! 6 3/4" Tall with a 3 1/8" Top Opening and a 3 7/8 Fitter Size. The Burner Assembly is a Brass Messenger's No.

2 Duplex Burner with Concentric Wick Winder Shafts which Control The Wicks. The Heavy Clear Glass Chimney is Original and is Signed "British Glass PB", and Measures approx. This is Still an Original Oil Lamp and has NOT been Converted, Its ALL ORIGINAL!!!!

This is in Working Condition and Functional, just Needs Wicks! This is a Stunning and Very Rare Victorian Banquet Lamp with Gorgeous Globe Shade!

This is Huge and measures approx. 34 1/2 to the top of the Chimney. This is in Excellent condition, as pictured. There is a Small Chip on the Underside of the Base which is not Noticeable, Overall a Good Original Lamp. Don't pass this one up, I have never seen one like this for sale before!

Founded before 1835 in Gloucester Place, Alston Street, Birmingham, moved to 19&20 Broad Street before 1888, making chandeliers, candelabra, lamps and gas fittings, exhibitor at 1851 Great Exhibition and others. The name occurs in the 1810s as Messenger and Phipson of Broad Street, Birmingham, manufacturers of'plated' goods. Ceased trading in the early 1930s. Messenger No 2 model was a duplex burner with concentric wick winder shafts contolling the two wicks.
