I have had this rare Hinks oil lamp many years we have used it on the odd occasion it gives a very good lighting effect and will serve many more years of use. The lamp is an original colonial issue possibly from the British Raj days I would date the lamp to the 1870s it is an early British Army issue the Punka Hinks twin burner is marked with the military arrow or crows foot, this type of burner was made for oil lamp table use it is designed to allow for the large Punkah fan and will counter act the current of air down draught. A lovely lamp in very good original undamaged condition complete with the correct globe shade and heat proof chimney, the lamp is 23 inches tall including the fine glass shade.
