19th C Cherub & Floral Sitzendorf Oil Lamp Base, Hinks Cut Glass Drop In Font

FABULOUS 19th CENTURY SITZENDORF OIL LAMP BASE WITH CUT GLASS DROP IN FONT This beautiful 19th century base by the German factory Sitzendorf stands 31cm tall inclusive of the cut glass font. It has a base diameter of 18cm. The mass of roses climb around and cascade onto the base on which the three cherubs stand supporting the pedestal body. Most possibly this has lost its original font and has been replaced with a beautiful cut glass font by Hinks which is of equal prestige.

The font fits perfectly into the top aperture. The collar bears the Hinks name and is a bayonet fit. A truly beautiful example, rarer to find in this base form.
